100 WC #33: Letter to a world leader

Did you know that 57 million kids don’t get an education? And that one third of these kids has a disability? This is very unfortunately true. Luckily, there is an organisation trying to change this. It’s called Send ALL my friends to school. Their aim is to make to world, and world leaders,  aware of this terrible issue.

The 100WC this week asked for a letter to a world leader trying to change this. This is my 100WC, and I am also thinking of perhaps writing a proper letter. Don’t forget that you can make a difference, too. Write a letter, make a donation, do anything to help. Just think about what your life would be like without school…

100WC:

Dear President Barack Obama,

My name is Holly Hughes and I get my education in Australia. Along with your fellow world leaders, you made a pact to ensure that everyone gets to go to school by 2015.

Unfortunately, 57 million children still don’t get an education. One third of them have a disability. I strongly believe you have the power to change that. Sending wheelchairs, braille machines, sign-language interpreters etc. to developing countries will help you achieve this goal. Some of those poor kids would kill to go to school. Make sure they don’t have to.

Sincerely, Holly.H
